In addition, candidates to the certification should not only study the general guide and technical bulletins but also spend time in the field familiarizing themselves with refrigerated container designs, markings, components, inspection and repair techniques.
IICL Refrigerated Container Inspector Certification Examination in Chinese
The IICL refrigerated container exam was developed to assess inspector’s knowledge, experience and understanding of the IICL General Guide for Refrigerated Container Inspection and Repair 4th edition, the IICL General Guide for Container Cleaning, 3rd Ed. available for purchase in the IICL online store https://www.iicl.org/store/storeform.cfm and corresponding technical bulletins that are available at https://www.iicl.org/technical-documents/reefer-technical-bulletins/ . In addition, candidates to the certification should not only study the general guide and technical bulletins but also spend time in the field familiarizing themselves with refrigerated container designs, markings, components, inspection and repair techniques. The examination is held around the world in over 5,100 examination centers. Some questions on the exam are broken down into multiple queries on the same subject or component.
Every registrant will be notified via email to select a test center, date and time to take the exam within six (6) months after the online registration and payment is received. Early registrants will be given priority for their choices of dates and times.
Candidates will have 150 minutes to complete the exam that consists of 100 multiple choice items. Additional 15 minutes are allocated to the introduction and clarifications including mandatory agreement to the IICL Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to starting the exam. The exam is a closed book examination and the passing score is 70%. Cancellations within the first 90 days will be refunded minus a $100 USD. No refunds will be provided after 31 October 2026.

The IICL Chassis Inspection & Repair one day Training Course will be held on Wednesday, 7 October 2026 in Chicago, Illinois. The exact location and reporting time will be emailed to the participants and/or posted online later.
Objectives:
Discuss the history, events and the role of container chassis in the transportation industry.
Promote proper inspection and maintenance of container chassis for safe operations over the road. Highway safety depends upon a commitment by all parties to conduct thorough and periodic chassis inspection to ensure that equipment is delivered and maintained in good condition, with repair worthy defects identified and corrected.
Encourage high chassis inspection standards and competency of personnel in the intermodal industry.
What You Will Learn:
Students review in detail IICL's Guide for Container Chassis Inspection & Maintenance, Fourth Edition, which includes sections on types of chassis with accompanying photographs; inspection procedures; repair worthiness and typical damage and wear with accompanying photographs of chassis conditions; and inspection criteria for chassis, as well as sections on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

Interested parties are asked to register as soon as possible to ensure seating availability. The course will be conducted in English. The courses will take place at SEABOARD Marine Terminal at 1630 Port Blvd, Miami, FL 33132.

There is a $100 cancellation fee for registrations cancelled before 24 April 2026. Any cancellations after 24 April 2026 will result in a forfeit of the registration and payment.

IICL Online Dry Van Training Course & Preparatory Assistant for the Dry Van Container Inspector Certification Examination
The training module was developed to assist persons interested in widening the knowledge about container inspections and repairs.
It also assists as preparation assistant to those planning to take the IICL inspector certificate exam. The course addresses and highlights important topics that inspectors, repair workers and personnel involved with maintenance and repair of containers should be aware of.
The IICL added its recently revamped course on the Convention for Safe Containers – CSC, to the Dry Van Container Online Course at no additional cost. The CSC course was added as a bonus feature for the persons that register for the online container course. Students can now access the CSC Course at the end of the third module. The CSC course provides a general overview of the convention while explaining some of its goals to facilitate trade and the safety of human life involved with container operations.
