The IICL Chassis Inspector's Certification Examination is held around the world at numerous locations. No preparatory classes or courses are available from IICL; self-study is required. The 2 hour computer-based Chassis Inspector's Examination (in English only) will consist of 100 multiple choice questions based on the IICL Guide for Container Chassis Inspection and Maintenance, 4th Edition, PRODUCT CODE# 2105 in the IICL Store https://www.iicl.org/store/storeform.cfm

Every registrant will be notified via email on how to select a test center location, date and time after the online registration and payment is received. Each student will be able to select a testing center, date and time between 15 January and 31 December 2025 to take the exam. Early registrants will be given priority.
Exam scores will be posted in the "My Transcript" section of the IICL User Account. You will need to sign into your user account to view your score 48 hours after the exam date. You can print your own certificate if you pass the exam. Visit https://testing.iicl.org/login/ sign-in and click on "My Transcript" to view your score. This is a closed book exam and the passing score is 67%.

All candidates who pass the exam receive an IICL certificate. The certification is valid for five years, after which, you must pass the exam again to recertify and increase your IICL Inspector Star Level Rating https://www.iicl.org/certification/iicl-inspector-recognition-program/
Certified inspectors will also be listed in the IICL Inspection Directory, which is updated annually. The Directory also includes companies that employ IICL-certified inspectors, and features professional advertisement listings by depot/repair and surveying companies.
The IICL has developed the Chassis Inspection Examination program to further promote important industry wide matters of proper inspection, repair, maintenance and operational issues. The exam, which is based upon the chassis inspection and maintenance guide, 4th edition, allows the student to understand technical aspects and the complexities of maintaining and operating various equipment types. In preparing for the exam the applicant will be asked to study the IICL publication which is the bases for all questions contained in the exam. Individuals who pass the IICL chassis inspection examination will have a sound foundation for continuing their education in the chassis industry and allow them to move on to more specialized industry related issues.
