IICL Dry Van Container Training Course Shanghai, China

The IICL is pleased to announce its Dry Van Container Training Course, which will be held in Shanghai, China, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The training venue will be announced at a later date. As seating is limited, we encourage interested participants to register as early as possible.

The course will be conducted in Chinese (Mandarin). Please note that some short videos will be presented in English. The one-day program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Coffee, tea, pastries, and a light lunch will be provided. All participants will receive an IICL Course Completion Certificate and digital copies of the following English-language manuals:

  • The importance of global standards and interchange requirements
  • The container inspector's role, inspection techniques, and daily work routine.
  • Definitions of damage, wear and tear, and non-conforming repairs
  • How container damage occurs.
  • The concepts of internal and external envelopes and the origin of IICL tolerances.
  • IICL inspection and measurement techniques - ”How to Measure".
  • Inspection tools that improve accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Container manufacturing processes.
  • Floorboard quality in new production and repairs, including quality verification methods such as density testing and the short-span bending test
  • Maintenance and repair costs.
  • Container repairs and the principle of using similar materials ("like for like").
