IICL is offering a one-day Chassis Inspection & Repair Course on Thursday,14 May 2020 in Newark, New Jersey.


  • Promote maintenance of over-the-road chassis in safe and operable condition. Highway safety depends upon a commitment by all parties to conduct thorough and periodic chassis inspection to ensure that equipment is delivered and maintained in good condition, with repair worthy defects identified and corrected.
  • Encourage high chassis inspection standards and competency of personnel in the intermodal industry.

What You Will Learn:
Students review in detail IICL's Guide for Container Chassis Inspection & Maintenance, Fourth Edition, which includes sections on types of chassis with accompanying photographs; inspection procedures; repair worthiness and typical damage and wear with accompanying photographs of chassis conditions; and inspection criteria for chassis, as well as sections on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Vendor representatives who are experts in the specialized fields of brakes, tires and factory production give presentations that offer valuable, up-to-date product information. Vendor presentations are designed to give students the opportunity to ask questions and discuss and solve problems they face during daily operations.

Course Fee: US $425.00.
Course fee includes IICL’s Guide for Container Chassis Inspection & Maintenance, Fourth Edition (a $60 value). Courses are subject to cancellation in which full refunds will be given. Refunds will not be given, however, for hotel arrangements and/or flight accommodations.

Course Duration: 1 Day.
The morning session will be in a classroom environment where students will review power point slides and other chassis material. The afternoon session will be held at a local depot where all students will go through practical training on a chassis.

All who attend will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training session.

All events are subject to cancellation if they do not have the required minimum number of participants registered and paid 3 weeks prior to the event. Registrations made within 15 days of the event incur in an additional fee of USD 100.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds will be given for any cancellation received by 28 April 2020, less a $50 cancellation fee. After this date, no refunds will be given, but alternate attendees may be designated at no charge.

Class is subject to a minimum number of paid registrations. The IICL may cancel classes within 30 days if the minimum number of participants is not met.

Refunds will not be given, however, for hotel arrangements or flight accommodations.
